HSBC Bank - Brand Campaign

HSBC Bank Malta had not produced a local brand film in over a decade, despite the flourishing local businesses banking with competitors. Recognizing this opportunity, Ian proposed a compelling idea and script that resonated with the daily experiences of Maltese business owners. Paired with an exquisite visual approach, the film aimed to forge a direct connection with the local community.

To ensure authenticity, the production was deliberately kept small and localized. This approach not only captured the essence of the Maltese business landscape but also reinforced HSBC Bank Malta's commitment to understanding and supporting local enterprises.

This endeavor aimed to infuse over 300 million Euros into the local economy, specifically supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). My pride in this project stems from various facets. It played a pivotal role in effecting tangible social and economic change.

The collaborative spirit that fueled the project was extraordinary, with each team member contributing their passion and expertise. Beyond its immediate impact, the project catalyzed a cultural shift within the advertising market, setting a new standard for excellence and instilling a sense of pride among all team members.

“Especially in this moment of intense change, you have to go back to the drawing board and really think about how people are consuming, what is important to the customer, and what is important to you, as well,” - Joseph Altuzarra

“It’s something that we’re constantly evaluating.” Chris Benjamin, the Head of Interior Design at Jeep, who faced a similar task when reimagining the Grand Wagoneer, spoke of the “immense pleasure but also, great responsibility” of reviving the legendary vehicle that first greeted American drivers in the 1960s.
